BBMRI.at brings Austrian biobanking expertise to the Europe Biobank Week 2026 (EBW26) in Prague
The Europe Biobank Week 2026 successfully took place from May 19 to 22 in Prague, Czech Republic. BBMRI.at contributed actively and highlighted the strength and active role of the Austrian biobanking community.
Europe’s leading biobank conference
More than 760 participants from 49 European and non-European countries took part in this year’s EBW. Europe’s largest biobanking conference is jointly organized by the European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking (ESBB) and BBMRI-ERIC.
Strong Austrian participation and international exchange
All BBMRI.at partner institutions were represented at EBW26. The conference provided an important platform for exchange, networking, and showcasing the expertise of the Austrian biobanking community and the BBMRI.at National Node in areas such as human and non-human microbiome biobanking and research in One Health, data infrastructure, biobanking on demand, green biobanking and sustainability, sample management, biobanking of patient-derived tumour cell models, cybersecurity, and veterinary biobanking for comparative medicine.
