General Safety and Performance Requirements (GSPRs) are challenging, standards are beautiful
As part of the IVDReady Webinar program by Platomics, Prof. Kurt Zatloukal from BBMRI.at partner Med Uni Graz gave a presentation on the role of pre-analytical standards in the context of IVDR.
The webinar provided orientation for labs in understanding the General Safety and Performance Requirements. On 30 January 2024, the former BBMRI.at director highlighted the relevance of standards for laboratory diagnostics, with special attention on the pre-analytical phase. He explained how implementation of these standards in diagnostic laboratories is also essential for meeting the GSPR of the European Union.
Having led several large EU projects on the issue like SPIDIA, INSTAND-NGS4P and BBMRI.at, Prof. Zatloukal has profound experience in biomedical research and the development of European and international standards.
