Standardised quality of diagnostics as key factor to improve quality of primary data to monitor COVID-19
BBMRI.at Director Kurt Zatloukal was invited to the BY-COVID industry event “Data driven innovation in infectious diseases”. He presented results from his and his team’s research on pre-analytical conditions and stressed the benefits of standardizing quality in diagnostics.
The virtual BY-COVID industry event was organised under the EU project BeYond-COVID (BY-COVID), a project that aims to provide comprehensive open data on SARS-CoV-2 and other infectious diseases across scientific, medical, public health and policy domains.
The researchers from Graz invested SARS-CoV-2 RNA stability under various pre-analytical conditions, such as different sample collection devices and stabilizers storage conditions.
