Biobanking Courses at Medical University of Graz – International Biobanking and Education

Register now for upcoming courses in April and May 2022!

BBMRI.at partner Med Uni Graz and its International Biobanking and Education team are pleased to offer their biobanking courses in English again this spring.

The courses, with a wide-ranging programme consisting of presentations, discussions and a guided tour of Biobank Graz, will take place at the Medl Uni Graz between the end of April and the beginning of May 2022.

The courses are designed for anyone involved in setting up a biobank, who is facing the challenges of a biobank in the process of being set up, or who wants to lead an established biobank and the multidisciplinary teams in a sustainable way.

Basic course: How to build a biobank

This interactive 2-day-course is designed for all those who are involved in setting up a new biobank, who wish to collaborate with a biobank or research institute, who are facing the challenges of a growing biobank or who are trying to overcome the challenges of maintaining a large biobank.

Advanced course: How to operate a biobank sustainably and successfully

This course is aimed at all those who have already set up a biobank and want to operate a biobank successfully in the long term. This is a 5-day-course, consisting of 5 modules. However, each module can be booked individually.

New course: Managing multidisciplinary teams and scientific projects in biobanks

This course has been designed for those who work in teams in research facilities. Research teams may be described as a research group, research centre, and research unit or research institute. Whatever term is used, the key characteristic of a research team is that it very often comprises a multidisciplinary group of people working together in a committed way to achieve scientific goals. This is a 5-day-course, though that individual module can be booked in combination with the introduction module.
