ISO 9001:2015 certification of BBMRI.at partner Biobank Innsbruck
BBMRI.at partner Biobank Innsbruck and the Institute of Pathology, Neuropathology and Molecular Pathology of the Medical University Innsbruck have recently been certified according to ISO 9001:2015 by Quality Austria.
The certification scope includes the “Center of Excellence in Western Austria for the areas of diagnostics, research and teaching, as well as the establishment and operation of the Biobank Innsbruck”.
The purpose of this certification is to continuously develop the quality management system towards excellence and to fulfil the requirements of customers and cooperation partners (e.g., Tirol Kliniken), but also to assure employee and patient safety, legal certainty and crisis resiliency.
This ISO 9001:2015 certification serves as a starting point for the more specific biobanking ISO 20387:2018, which Biobank Innsbruck may apply in the future in order to guarantee excellent processes and sample quality in Innsbruck.
