Biobank Graz – a unique collection of biological specimens
One of the largest European biobanks located at the Medical University of Graz is partner of BBMRI.at, the Austrian hub of the Europe Biobanking Research Infrastructure BBMRI-ERIC. Millions of biological samples are stored in Biobank Graz and other BBMRI.at biobanks for research, diagnostic and treatment purposes.
A newspaper article in the daily newspaper “Kleine Zeitung” explains the process and benefit of biobanking to the Austrian public and introduces Biobank Graz. Every year nearly 1 million of new samples including blood, tissue from surgical therapies, urine, stool and other sample types are stored there under high-quality conditions and state-of-the-art storage facilities.
