BBMRI.at presentation at Austrian Life Science day on Health Care Data
BBMRI.at Director Georg Göbel elaborated on Health Data Hubs at Austrian Medical Universities at the 2nd Austrian Life Science day held at Med Uni Graz. More than 150 participants attended the event. Expert Petr Holub from the BBMRI-ERIC headquarter presented EHDS2.
The Austrian Life Science Day offered participants insights into the most forward-thinking topic of “Health Care Data”. The event was organised by the life science cluster Human.technology Styria and the funding organization FFG and provided talks, panel discussions and business-to-business sessions.
Among several interesting contributions, BBMRI.at Director Georg Göbel showed up current approaches and challenges of Health Data Hubs for an improved secondary usage of health data and presented the situation and plans at the Medical Universities of Graz, Vienna, Innsbruck and the Medical faculty of Linz – all of them are part of BBMRI.at.
From BBMRI-ERIC, Petr Holub (Chief IT Officer) spoke about first experiences with a European Health Data Space (EHDS) pilot and its aim to facilitate data sharing for secondary purposes like research and policy-making.
Among the presentation was also an introduction of the Smart FOX flagship project where BBMRI.at member Med Uni Graz is project partner. This project explores patient-based data donations and the integration of ELGA health data from ELGA by using the BBMRI Colorectal Cancer (CRC) cohort as case study.
