BBMRI.at drives pre-analytics standardisation

As member of SPIDIA4P, BBMRI.at develops new CEN/TS and ISO Standards

BBMRI.at will provide knowledge to develop new CEN/TS and ISO Standards, such as an ISO Standard for in-situ staining of FFPE tissue and a CEN/TS for microbiome DNA from stool and saliva.

SPIDIA4P is a European Union H2020 project that aims to improve standardization of pre-analytical workflows needed for personalized medicine. The 4 year project started in January 2017 and unites 19 partners who will develop 12 new pre-analytical CEN Technical Specifications (CEN/TS) and 2 International ISO Standards.

The BBMRI.at partner Medical University of Graz is member of the SPIDIA4P consortium and leads the work package “Implementation and Dissemination of Standards & External Quality Assurance Schemes” and two tasks which aim at developing an ISO Standards for in-situ staining of FFPE tissue and a CEN/TS for microbiome DNA from stool and saliva.

Since the Medical University of Graz hosts BBMRI.at, it will link the available expertise within the BBMRI.at team of universities and biobanks to the SPIDIA4P consortium.
