J\u00e4hrlich kommen fast eine Million neue Proben dazu.<\/p>\n<p>Diese Proben (Mensch, Tier) repr\u00e4sentieren alle bekannten Krankheiten in ihrer nat\u00fcrlichen H\u00e4ufigkeit und umfassen auch gesunde Proben.<\/p>\n<p>Zu den wichtigsten Probentypen geh\u00f6ren in Formalin fixiertes, in Paraffin eingebettetes (FFPE) und frisch eingefrorenes Gewebe, Fl\u00fcssigproben (Serum, Plasma,                     <h4 class=\"cohorts_subheadline\">\r\n                            Eine au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Probensammlung in der VetBiobank Wien (Veterin\u00e4rmedizinische Universit\u00e4t Wien), basierend auf einer prospektiven Kohorte von Hunden mit Milzgeschw\u00fcren, die zur Unterst\u00fctzung der aktuellen Forschung in der Veterin\u00e4ronkologie eingerichtet wurde                        <\/h4>\r\n\r\n                        <div class=\"cohorts_textfield text1624\">\r\n                            <p>Milzmassen, die sowohl aus gutartigen als auch aus b\u00f6sartigen Ver\u00e4nderungen entstehen k\u00f6nnen, sind bei Hunden h\u00e4ufig und zeigen ein sehr unterschiedliches klinisches Verhalten. Gutartige Tumore wie Milzh\u00e4matome und nodul\u00e4re Hyperplasien sind nicht-krebsartige Massen aus geronnenem Blut, die chirurgisch mit kurativer Absicht entfernt werden k\u00f6nnen. Im Gegensatz dazu treten b\u00f6sartige Ver\u00e4nderungen \u2013 darunter H\u00e4mangiosarkome, Lymphome und verschiedene Sarkome \u2013 oft als aggressive Tumore mit ung\u00fcnstiger Prognose auf.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Milztumore sind besonders h\u00e4ufig bei gro\u00dfen Hunderassen. Deutscher Sch\u00e4ferhund, Golden Retriever und Labrador Retriever geh\u00f6ren zu den am st\u00e4rksten gef\u00e4hrdeten Rassen. Beim Deutschen Sch\u00e4ferhund treten zudem h\u00e4ufig hyperplastische Knoten und H\u00e4matome auf. H\u00e4mangiosarkome k\u00f6nnen jedoch Hunde jeder Rasse und Gr\u00f6\u00dfe betreffen. Kleine Hunderassen mit malignen Milzmassen haben allerdings nur ein Drittel des Risikos f\u00fcr ein H\u00e4mangiosarkom im Vergleich zu gro\u00dfen Hunderassen. Sowohl klinisch als auch histologisch ist die Unterscheidung zwischen gutartigen und b\u00f6sartigen Milztumoren h\u00e4ufig schwierig.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Milzmassen werden oft zuf\u00e4llig entdeckt oder im Rahmen von Notf\u00e4llen infolge eines H\u00e4mabdomen diagnostiziert, was entweder zu einer dringlichen Operation oder zum Tod f\u00fchrt. Ein erheblicher Blutverlust kann dabei das Operationsrisiko zus\u00e4tzlich erh\u00f6hen. Ein diagnostischer Schnelltest am Point-of-Care k\u00f6nnte wesentlich dazu beitragen, die Art der Masse zu identifizieren und somit die Behandlungsentscheidung zwischen Operation und \u2013 leider oft \u2013 Euthanasie zu beeinflussen. Eine fr\u00fchzeitige Erkennung von Milzmassen durch routinem\u00e4\u00dfige bildgebende Diagnostik und m\u00f6glicherweise neu entwickelte Blut-Screeningtests k\u00f6nnte nicht nur Notf\u00e4lle verhindern, sondern auch eine rechtzeitige Behandlung b\u00f6sartiger F\u00e4lle erm\u00f6glichen und so die \u00dcberlebensrate verbessern.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Als Reaktion auf diesen Bedarf wurde eine Sammlung klinischer Gewebe- und Serumproben von Hunden mit Milzmassen initiiert, um die Forschung und Entwicklung neuer diagnostischer Werkzeuge in der <strong>Veterin\u00e4r-Onkologie<\/strong> zur besseren Behandlung von Milztumoren bei Hunden zu f\u00f6rdern. Die Kohorte umfasst sowohl kastrierte als auch nicht kastrierte R\u00fcden und H\u00fcndinnen im Alter von 4 Jahren und 6 Monaten bis 16 Jahren und 1 Monat. Die Bioproben wurden gem\u00e4\u00df standardisierter Arbeitsanweisungen (SOPs) unter Einhaltung der pr\u00e4analytischen Standards f\u00fcr Gewebe CEN\/TS 16826 1-3, CEN\/TS 16827 1-3 gesammelt, um
