BBMRI.at member Biobank Graz received European Life Science Award
The BBMRI.at-associated Biobank Graz located at the Medical University of Graz is one of the largest biobanks in Europe. Now the Biobank was honored as "Best European academic Biobank".
Better health care for the population
The BBMRI.at member Biobank Graz of Medical University of Graz has been awarded by the jury of the "International Life Sciences Award 2016" as "Best European Academic Biobank". The Biobank Graz, a the central service facility of the Medical University of Graz, promotes biomedical research and is instrumental in the development of new diagnostics and therapies. The aim of the Biobank Graz is to contribute to better health care for the population.
With about 7.5 million biological samples Biobank Graz is one of the largest academic biobanks in Europe. Researchers at the Medical University of Graz play a leading role in building up the Austrian and European biobanking network and infrastructures, BBMRI.at and BBMRI ERIC respectively.
The International Life Sciences Awards is awared from the British "Global Health & Pharma" an international platform and community of multidisciplinary members. This award places the "life sciences" into the center and honors those institutions which have committed themselves to an innovative and new ways in the life science sector.
